In what turned out to be his final season, Don Hutson scores 29 points in the second quarter, and 31 overall, during a 57-21 victory over the Detroit Lions at Milwaukee’s State Fair Park. The four touchdown receptions in one quarter and 29 points in one period still stand as NFL records.
The victory helps the Packers get off to a 4-1 start on the season, but they would lose three of their last five games to finish 6-4 and in third place in the Western Division. The late struggles include the finale against the Lions in which Green Bay scored just three points, 54 fewer than two months prior against the same team.
