Aaron Rodgers begins a string of successful Hail Mary passes with a towering 61-yard toss to Richard Rodgers on the final play of a Thursday night game in Detroit to give the Packers a stunning 27-23 win.

The final play was only possible because Rodgers had been tackled by his facemask on what would have been the final play of the game, but because a game can’t end on a defensive penalty, the Packers got a free 15 yards and one more shot.

A little over a month later in the NFC Divisional playoff at Arizona, Rodgers found Jeff Janis twice with desperation throws – first on fourth-and-20 from his own end zone, and a few plays later for a 41-yard TD pass on the final snap of regulation to force overtime.

The Packers, unfortunately, lost on the first possession of the OT as Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald weaves his way to a 75-yard catch-and-run, setting up his own game-winning TD.

Rodgers saved one more for the following year’s wild-card round on the final play before halftime against the Giants, a 42-yard TD to Randall Cobb that highlighted a 38-13 blowout of New York at Lambeau Field.
