Over several weeks in late summer, the Packers sign linemen Cal Hubbard and Mike Michalske along with back Johnny Blood, all future Pro Football Hall of Fame inductees who would form the nucleus of the first team to win three straight NFL championships.

At 6-foot-2 and 253 pounds, Hubbard was considered a massive man in his day and was selected for the NFL’s 75th anniversary All-Two-Way Team in 1994.

Also a two-way player, Michalske formed a formidable line duo with Hubbard and rarely came off the field. He was named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 1920s.

Blood, a Wisconsin native, was an all-purpose running and receiving big-play threat, catching an unofficial league record 10 touchdown passes in 1931.
