The Packers win their fifth NFL championship with a 27-0 triumph over the Giants at State Fair Park in Milwaukee. It’s the first shutout in an NFL title game.

Despite 35-mph winds, Arnie Herber and Cecil Isbell both throw touchdown passes for Green Bay, while New York misses three field-goal attempts in the first half. Isbell’s TD toss, a 31-yarder to Joe Laws, is set up by Laws’ own 30-yard punt return. The Packers’ defense also records six interceptions.

The Packers went 9-2 in a regular season full of close games to reach the championship. Six of Green Bay’s nine victories came by seven points or less. The shutout of the Giants in the title game is Green Bay’s third on the year overall.
