Brett Favre plays his last game as a member of the Packers, throwing an interception in overtime that leads to a 23-20 loss to the Giants in an NFC title game played in minus-1 degree weather at Lambeau Field.
Six weeks later, Favre announced his retirement in a tearful press conference inside the Lambeau Field Atrium. Five months after that, he changed his mind, and after being reinstated by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Favre is traded to the New York Jets after the start of training camp, on Aug. 6.
A year later, Favre signed with the rival Vikings and beat the Packers twice in 2009, before Green Bay turned the tables to win both games against Minnesota and Favre in 2010.-
