Ted Fritsch scores both Green Bay touchdowns as the Packers beat the Giants, 14-7, at the Polo Grounds for their sixth NFL championship under Curly Lambeau.

With Don Hutson being used mostly as a decoy, Fritsch scores his two TDs on a fourth-and-goal plunge from the 1 and a 28-reception from Irv Comp. The Giants don’t advance past their own 35-yard line until the second half, and Green Bay’s Joe Laws intercepts three passes and rushes for 74 yards.

The victory avenges one of Green Bay’s two losses in an 8-2 regular season, a 24-0 shutout at the hands of the Giants just a month before the title game.
