Brett Favre comes off the bench in relief of an injured Don Majkowski to hit Kitrick Taylor with a 35-yard bullet for a touchdown with 13 seconds left to complete a two-TD comeback against Cincinnati.

Favre was having a terrible game, getting sacked five times and fumbling on multiple occasions, putting the Packers in a 17-3 hole entering the fourth quarter. Terrell Buckley’s punt return for a TD started the rally, but Green Bay still trailed 20-10 when Favre found Sterling Sharpe for a 5-yard TD to make it a one-score game again.

The final drive started on Green Bay’s own 8-yard line with 1:07 left. A 42-yard pass to Sharpe got the Packers across midfield and gave them a chance. The rocket shot to Taylor turned out to be the only touchdown of the journeyman receiver’s career.

The next week, Favre would start the first of 275 consecutive games at quarterback for Green Bay, including playoffs.
